In addition to the symposium »Reconstructing Harald Bode«, the ZKM will publish a comprehensive scientific publication on the German-American engineer Harald Bode (1909-1987) in summer 2025. The focus is on the work of one of the most important engineers for electronic music, sound and audio devices of the 20th century, whose complete estate is in the ZKM archive. The English-language publication gives scientists, musicians, producers and interested parties access to the fascinating and revolutionary ideas and visions of an outstanding instrument maker who thought far ahead of his time.
