Gulaschprogrammiernacht (GPN) 2017
Thu, May 25 – Sun, May 28, 2017
Hacking, programming, lectures, workshops – and of course goulash! Entropia e.V. and Chaos Computer Club (CCC) Karlsruhe are issuing the invitation to participate in the GPN again in 2017.
Works for me! But does it work as inteded? What protects the code, the infrastracture and the applications we build from being used unethically? Whether it's about Dual Use or simple misappropriation: Can we simply continue hacking without worrying about those possibilities? All of this is to be discussed extensively at the GPN17.
What began in 2002 in a Karlsruhe cellar with a couple of technophiles has grown into one of the largest events of the local Chaos Computer Club. The themes are diverse: Hardware and software development and data security are at the heart of it. But alongside, there is data protection, internet policy and many other fascinating subjects: How do you cook the perfect goulash? Can you make attractive jewellery from scrap hardware? How does a sewing machine actually work? How do you fly spaceships?
The Gulaschprogrammiernacht has everything: Lectures, workshops, a big hackcenter, mate and tschunk, an epic lounge and the lava meadow. Of course, there will also be goulash – both with meat and as a vegan alternative. We welcome everybody, from the “usual suspects” to the wholly inexperienced. The important thing is, despite the depth into which some speakers delve, the Goulash Programmers’ Night is not just aimed at »digital natives« or freaks. Everyone is welcome and can learn something. As the old saying goes, »we like everything«.
Take part in the GPN:
The Goulash Programmers’ Night is an open event to all. However, the organizers would prefer you to register in advance so they can better prepare for the visitor numbers and buy enough ingredients for the famous goulash. Visitors, who are in a position to, are also asked to make a donation. As the Goulash Programmers’ Night is organized and hosted completely by volunteers, it is dependent on strong support. »Trolls«, who contribute invaluably to the success of the GPN, are highly regarded, in contrast to their reputation in internet discussions.
