Dancing Sea: Guest performance by the Badisches Staatstheater

As part of the »FLOW - Days of Sustainability«, the Staatstheater is a guest at the ZKM with a spatial sound installation by the Taiwanese-Austrian composer Shih with the Orchestra of Change and GMD Georg Fritzsch. The spatial sound composition, performed live as a concert, artistically recreates the inner life of the sea.

The idea for the commission came to Fritzsch in a room of the Naturkundemuseum Kiel, a Gropius building, the starting point of marine research in general, from where Möbius set out on his expeditions and discovered plankton.

The pop-up concert will be followed by a discussion with cell and developmental biologist Prof. Thomas Bosch, composer Shih and Alistair Hudson. We also invite you to take a guided tour of »Fellow Travellers«, the marine studies of Courbet and Schirmer at the Kunsthalle Karlsruhe and the singing plants at the ZKM Hertzlab.
